Spiny Babbler's knowledge center has facilitated international development organizations working in Nepal and the South Asia region for 25 years. It offers a single-stop data gathering, information management, knowledge packaging and dissemination support. The work of the Netherlands Consulate, the Canadian Consulate, United Nations' various regional and national programs, German Technical Assistance and other regional and global institutions have been supported through comprehensive knowledge packages and products.
Spiny Babbler knowledge center has proven capacity to work across a variety of development issues such as environment, health, education, governance, rights, and violence. It has delivered quality content in multiple languages and prepared packages and products in the print, web, video, and alternative media that has been shared among the highest levels of global government representatives and decision makers, professionals and sectoral experts, as well as grassroots women and children.
The knowledge center became a separate legal identity in 1994 as Editorial Services and nine years later, on 18 December 2003, it was renamed and incorporated as Outreach and Communication Center Private Limited. It is VAT registered, Inland Revenue Department PAN number 302-539-800; Company Registrar's Office number 26352; and filed in Teku, ward number 12 of Kathmandu Municipality.
