At three years of age, Vidheha Ranjan became the youngest person in Nepal to hold a full art exhibition, 66+ artwork. She is now eight and is on a journey with Stand Up 4 Elephants and Spiny Babbler to support elephants, environment, nature, and climate through a photo exhibition of elephants in shelter and a book of their photographs.
Called the “Song of Elephants” this effort will present creativity and education material that will be shared across Nepal as well as internationally to generate interest in and support for elephants of Nepal in the wild as well as working elephants. Floraine Blot, founder of Stand Up 4 Elephants, says, “Children have their own unique talents, but Vidheha’s photography really stands out. SU4E has had the pleasure of working with her for the last few years and her creations are so beautiful.”
Elephants in Nepal work up to 14 hours a day carrying more than 600 kilograms or 1000 pounds of weight. Many working elephants suffer from lack of nutrition, proper care and undergo abuse. Her effort is expected to raise awareness on the needs of the elephant and sensitize the public positively, especially young people.
Vidheha presented “Early Creations,” solo art exhibition and a book of artwork at the Nepal Art Council at 3 years of age and presented “I Like My Life,” her second solo exhibition and e-book at the Nepal Tourism Board and the Patan Museum at the age of 4. She was lead artist for books like “With My Whole Heart” and “15 Stories” published by VSO Nepal and UKAID and her artwork and articles have appeared in many other publications, reports, and newspapers in Nepali and English.

विदेहा रञ्जनले नेपाल कला परिषदमा तीन वर्षको उमेरमै ६६ भन्दा बढी कलाकृति प्रस्तुत गरेर एकल प्रदर्शनी गरी राष्ट्रकै सबैभन्दा कम उमेरकी कलाकार बन्न सफल भएकी थिइन्। आठ वर्ष पुगेकी विदेहा स्ट्यान्ड अप फोर एलिफन्ट्स र स्पाइनी ब्याबलरसँग हात्ती, वातावरण, प्रकृति र जलवायुलाई आश्रय दिन हात्तीहरूको फोटो प्रदर्शनी र ती तस्बिरहरूको पुस्तक तयार पार्न तल्लिन छिन्।
यो प्रयासले नेपालका जंगली हात्ती र पालुवा हात्तीहरूप्रतिको चासो, बुझाई र समर्थन राष्ट्रिय र अन्तराष्ट्रिय स्तरमै बढ्ने आशा राखिएको छ। विदेहाको रचनात्मकता र शैक्षिक सामग्री विषेशत आमजनता, बालबालिका, युवा र शैक्षिक संस्था तर्फ लक्षित हुनेछ। स्ट्यान्ड अप फोर एलिफन्ट्सका संस्थापक फ्लोरेन ब्लट भन्छिन्, “बालबालिकामा आफ्नै विशिष्ट प्रतिभा हुन्छ, तर विदेहाको फोटोग्राफी साँच्चै नै फरक छ। हामीलाई विगत केही वर्षदेखि उनीसँग काम गर्दै आउँदा निकै खुशी लागेको छ, उनका सिर्जनाहरू निकै सुन्दर छन्।“
कतिपय नेपाली हात्तीहरूले ६०० देखि ९०० किलोग्राम भन्दा बढी तौल बोकेर दिनको १४ घण्टा काम गर्छन्। धेरै काम गर्ने हात्तीहरूलाई उपयुक्त पोषण र उचित हेरचाह पुर्याउन गाह्रो छ र उनीहरू दुव्र्यहारको शिकार पनि हुनसक्छन्। विदेहाको प्रयासले हात्तीहरूको आवश्यकताको बारेमा चेतना जगाउने र आमजनता, विशेषगरी शैक्षिक संस्था, बालबालिका र युवाहरूलाई सकारात्मक रूपमा संवेदनशील बनाउने अपेक्षा राखिएको छ।
विदेहाले ३ वर्षको उमेरमा नेपाल कला परिषदमा ‘अर्ली क्रिएशन्स’ एकल कला प्रदर्शनी र कलाकृतिको पुस्तक अनि ४ वर्षको उमेरमा ‘आई लाइक माइ लाइफ’ दोस्रो एकल प्रदर्शनी र ई–बुक नेपाल पर्यटन बोर्ड र पाटन संग्रालयमा प्रस्तुत गरिन्। उनी अन्तराष्ट्रिय भिएसओ नेपाल र युकेएडद्वारा प्रकाशित “विथ माई होल हार्ट” र “१५ स्टोरीज” जस्ता पुस्तकहरूका मुख्य कलाकार रहिन् र उनको कलाकृति र लेखहरू नेपाली र अन्य धेरै प्रकाशन, रिपोर्ट र पत्रपत्रिकाहरूमा देखा परेका छन्।
